10 Emerging and Influential Blogs of 2010

The following blogs has grabbed my attention for the past months. What they do not know is that I am secretly visiting their website. These are my nominations for the 10 emerging and influential blogs for 2010.

FAT GIRL NO MORE
I admit it, I was tempted to do a male version blog of this blog. It’s just so inspiring and this blog is something I can relate with. With that much effect on me, I consider it as influential. Fat Girl No More is maintained by Ria Tirazona.

FACEBUKO
Everyone knows how Facebuko rocked the country – it is simply viral. Jonas Roque did a pleasant job in conceptualizing this kind of website. Facebuko is definitely an emerging and at the same time, an influential blog.

WHEN IN MANILA
Vince Golangco – someone whom I never heard prior IBlog6! And when I heard him talk, wow, he’s so spontaneous and I found out he was the blogger behind this really cool website.

PROJECT52WEEKS
Mica Rodriguez is a talented lass. This girl can do wonders and her Project52Weeks just captivates me. She might not know I’ve secretly been tuning in to her videos and writings there (well, now she knows!). She has interesting ideas – she always breaks out from the usual using her vids and blogs.

NOMNOMCLUB
Following the footsteps of PatayGutom, NomnomClub has its different style in writing foodie blog entries. Makes you crave right at the edge of your seat.

100ARAW
Gotta add some political flavor on my list and 100araw.com is my choice simply because it was the blog that got me hooked while tuning in at the elections, as well as in the present, tracking PNoy’s first hundred days.

THIRSTY BLOGGER
Mr. Fitz Villafuerte is an influential blogger himself for helping a lot of people anytime, anywhere. This guy, when you meet him, may appear too serious but this guy knows a lot of things! His blog Thirsty Blogger is a breath of fresh air from all his other blogs tackling finances and more personal in line – Thirsty Blogger shows a brighter part of his personality and thus, I can consider as influential.

TARA NA
I believe this girl deserves a huge break in blogging! She has really great thoughts. If I would consider her, she’s probably not the influential type but this girl can easily be a hit after this blogging event – Tara Na is my top choice for the emerging blog of 2010.

REKLAMOTION
Maintained by college students, Reklamotion is interesting as it meets the reklamo to motion. Interesting group blog if you ask me.

MOMMYRUBZ
MommyRubz.com is probably an underdog in this kind of contests but I rarely see parenting blogs where you can really see the passion in the writer. MommyRubz is one of those – willing to learn, willing to do everything just for her kids. She’s definitely someone who I can identify as influential. If her blog gets the proper attention it needs after this writing project, she’ll be able to inspire and motivate a lot of people.

There are three spots left and the deadline for this contest is tomorrow. As of now, I am contented with this list. Let’s see if I’d be able to add a couple more tomorrow.

A Rundown

September is probably the busiest month for most students. The fact that professors converge to pile up all the requirements at this time of the semester and the feeling of anticipation towards the end of the semester probably makes us all feel agitated to do what’s needed to be done. Besides that, I can probably complain a lot but no one will argue that it is probably the most eventful and most fun time of the semester. Too bad, there are days where you need to slack yourself off of some fun just to bear stress imposed by your studies.

True enough in my case, this is probably going to be one hell of a September this 2010! I decided to start writing again before August ends since I know September will be full of happenings – both excruciating and overwhelming – this is probably going to be a colorful ride.

Before I indulge myself to personal blogging once again, let me tell you first a rundown of what has happened for the past three months I was not updating this blog. I am not actually giving you a favor in doing so. Frankly, I just want to remind myself what I have been accomplishing recently and from there on, I will probably see where my future’s headed.

Summer Over

Hey y’all. I hope you all had fun this summer vacation.

Unfortunately for me, I have to leave Olongapo now as I would have to embark on my fifth year on college in the University of the Philippines! Oh, the student life really stresses me.

Today, I’ll just finish the dormitory requirements, purchase some important stuffs for my new room and rest as tomorrow will really be a very very stressful and tiring day. Hopefully, I’d be able to enlist all the subjects I needed to be able to graduate on Summer.

Does anyone else here think that this past summer was the best!? Well yea, for me, it was! I feel recharged again! How about you?

My Plans for the First Semester

Though I have been keeping myself away from too much academic-related work for the past few days, there will always come a time in the middle of such blissful moments that you will realizethere are more things in reality beyond that. This just occurred to me earlier as I was checking my CRS account.

I saw my transcript of grades there – and I can’t help but shriek with the grades I’ve been getting for the past four years. These really disappoint me. But hey, there’s no point in grieving on what’s already done and out. I only have a few days left to finally prepare myself to hopefully my last year in college.

Sweet Vacation

Ooh. Sorry for not posting here for quite sometime. You see, it’s summer vacation! (Oh yea, whatever you call it, even it’s only for a week) That’s what’s keeping me busy right now.

Thursday was when my summer buddies, Keith and Brenda went home. I can’t help but be emotional as these two people over here kept me sane the whole summer after I took nine units for the summer term. Aww. I sooo love them. Our two months of friendship – too short, right? – but we grew fond of each other. We’re not used to not texting each other every so often anymore. We eat our meals together, we stroll in UP together and we watch TV together. They were also the ones who accompanied me in my third time watching in a movie house – Here Comes The Bride! It was really fun.

So what had really happened these past days?

How Grateful I Am to Be With Juno

It was a long-term dream. These days won’t be so much happy if not because of him. I always think of him as my partner – the one God sent to me from up above. He’s my companion now and I won’t do anything to hurt him or lose him.

So I Decided to Stay at the Dormitory

One thing I love in staying at the dormitory and probably the only thing that keeps me away from home is its unlimited internet connection. Well, it is a must for people who are trying to make some bucks online. There are lots of things that I cannot do while at home which I can do when I am here – just streaming videos on my websites, downloading really great films which I watch until the wee hours of the morning.

It was last night when I finally ended my Summer semester with six out of nine units passed. I realized that was also the end of my fourth year here in UP Diliman. It is a long journey indeed but it felt like everything had just happened a few days ago. It all came in fast and I was drowned on the rate of how things are going.

Staying at the dormitory, alone in my room, made me dwell on my mistakes on the past. It also made me realize how I took a lot of things for granted and how I was not able to make the most out of my college life thus far. It was all but worries, shrugs and what-ifs. It then came upon me, it seems like I wasn’t enjoying life to the fullest and maybe I am running out of time to straighten things out.
